When you look out for a child with autism, do you find hope that there is still a way to make him better? Autism spectrum disorder is common. It is not a rare case. It is essential to know what this disorder is to help the sufferer. This is not an epidemic. Those parents who have children with autism are challenged. They need more patience. They need to accept to themselves that caring a special child is not a choice rather a necessity. If the child is less capable of handling himself, he needs somebody to take care of him. When you are helping an autistic kid or somebody, know the significance of a good diet. Is there a connection between autism and diet? Yes, so you better change your wrong belief. Diet has an effect on the person’s physical, emotional and social well-being. Make a list of all allowable foods your child can take. Eliminate those that aren’t important. When food elements that are not supposed to be taken are swallowed, that would lead to imbalance. The body’s mental, emotional and physical aspects will be seriously affected. Dare to be ready. For sure, you won’t like seeing your kid reacting so weird and so annoying. Autism is never infectious nor a curse. But, symptoms can be so annoying especially if you don’t know how to react to his tantrums.
Right diet will address a few autism issues and will make the kid feel better. Whatever that diet is, your child should not be given dairy, gluten and sugar. These three contain alarming ingredients that aren’t allowable for a child with autism. Below are the reasons why. Identify common foods with dairy, gluten and sugar on it.
Dairy is mainly consists of casein which is a main ingredients in making glue. The said ingredient makes that glue sticky. When a child consumes dairy, the casein or the glue-like substance seal the stomach thus preventing constant absorption of nutrients. Those particles stuck on the stomach wall will be turned to toxic waste. If not fully digest and release away from the body, toxic waste leak into the blood. What will happen next? That leak will lead to chemical imbalance which results to discomfort and other negatives.
Gluten is the Latin version of the word glue. This is common in rye, wheat and barley. Too much of gluten creates negative effects. It targets that inflammation of the mucosa right on the small intestine.
Sugar is not good for a child with autism. Every form of sugar initiates hyperactivity. Sugar is food for the brain. If taken, sugar fuels the brain so expect that all mental, emotional and physical activities will be affected. If the body receives too much sugar, hyperactivity results so you better eliminate sugar on your kid’s diet. Hyper kids are difficult to manage. They are super active as if they never get tired.
Now, what would you give to your child? Fruits and vegetables are green. They’re safer. They are not deliciously looking like chocolate muffins or dairy chocolates. Prepare recipes, healthier recipes. Make your child understand why he needs to eat fruits and love veggies. They won’t create imbalance and cause hyperactivity. They cause rapid shift in moods.
Eliminating dairy, gluten and sugar from your child’s diet brings a lot of comfort to you and the kid. Do it now. Get a professional help is possible. Don’t limit your child’s favorites. But, be sure he gets rid of the mentioned food elements. If your child is free from the negative food elements then he’ll get better each day. He’ll be happy and you too.

One of the concerns of parents who have children that were diagnosed with autism is their health. Most of the time, the health needs of children with autism are not met because of the complications of their condition. But there are ways on how to closely meet the health needs of children with autism. Parents who have children with autism should know everything about the condition of their child so they would understand what is going on to their child’s health. Autism is a serious condition that requires serious attention. It will be easier for parents to deal with their child’s condition if they understand what’s going on to their child. Autism may not be confirmed in early age of the child until the symptoms manifests. This may be hard and would require a full time monitoring to prevent any accidents to happen. But the attention will depend on the severity of the autism. There are actually different types of autisms and you need to exactly know the exact type of autism you child has. So, you will also know what will be the right approach. So, for you to confirm and be sure about the severity and type of autism that your child has, try to look for a doctor who specialize in that field. After knowing the right diagnostic, here’s what you need to do to properly meet his/her health needs.

Coordinate With Their Doctor
Now, aside from the knowledge that you have about your child’s condition, do not take for granted to always coordinate with his doctor. His doctor has more knowledge and background about the health condition of your child. You need to meet his doctor on a regular basis to monitor his condition and his progression. The doctor may do an assessment to your child and that will be the basis for the next appointment. But you need to know that this may cost you money because you need to pay the doctor’s fee on every session that you will have. You can meet at least once a week or it may depend on the return appointment of your doctor. The doctor will also give you instruction on what you need to do to have control over your kid and take care of his health.
Send Them To School For Children With Special Needs
Another good way to meet your child’s need is to send them to school for children with special needs. There they will be taught and be train of things that will make him do normal things just like other normal kids. Since most children with autism have difficulty with their attention, focus, their diet, speech, and metal state. So, sending them to special school will really help to improve the condition of your child. If their condition is improved, then their health needs will be easily meet. One of the reason is you will get a response from your child. Your child will also coordinate if their condition is improved. In school they can be trained of things that are necessary for survival like doing house chores, brushing their teeth, taking a bath, doing grocery, fixing their bed, and many more.

Another role that parents need to do is to carefully watch the diet of their child with autism. Mostly, children with autism have difficulty when it comes to food that they eat. They are very picky and they will just eat the type of food. But don’t forget to seek doctor’s help. You also need to introduce them to other food so they will know that they have options to choose from.

It is a fact that parents who have a child that is diagnosed of autism are having a hard time meeting the needs of their children. But the good news is there are many things that parents with autistic children can do to help their children. However, it is also important that you also get the help and support that you need especially if you don’t have any idea about autism. You need to be physically and emotionally strong for your child, which means that taking care of yourself is not a selfish act but rather a necessity so you could provide the best care for your autistic child. But how can you meet the health needs for kids with autism? Here are some of the factors that I think could help you deal with your autistic child.

Learn About Autism
If you are not familiar with autism, of course the very first thing that you need to do is to research about it and learn everything about it. It’s hard to deal with something that you don’t have any idea about it. Like most likely, the health needs of children with autism are often unmet because parents don’t have any idea when it comes to health needs of their children and also another reason is the cause of this illness is still unknown. Even experts are still having hard time dealing with autistic children even though there are already treatments introduced. The more you know about autism spectrum disorders, the more you will become equipped when it comes to your decision making. Educate yourself with everything that is related to this illness like treatments, ask questions if you are confuse with some terms and situation, and most of all, participate in all treatments decisions. If you are the parent, try to become an expert with your child with the help of the medical experts of this illness.
Acceptance
This is another concern why most of the time health needs for kids with autism are unmet because parents can’t accept their child’s condition. Instead of focusing on their weaknesses and quirks, or how your child is different from other children and what he or she is missing, try to practice acceptance. This may not be easy but your child will suffer more of his or her condition if they don’t get any support from their parents. But rather, enjoy their special quirks, try to celebrate every small success they accomplish, and you need to stop comparing your child from other children with special needs. Give them the unconditional love that they need and deserve. If they feel that and accepted, it will help your child more than anything else.
Don’t Give Up
Parents should be more patient with their autistic child. I know that it’s not easy to take care of an autistic child and even experts are having hard time dealing with them, because it’s impossible to predict the course of an autism spectrum disorder. Never jump off to the conclusion about your child’s future, because just like other normal people, autistic children also have an entire lifetime to grow and develop their abilities.
Create A Personalize Treatment Plan
You also need to come up with your own treatment plan, like knowing your child’s strength, weaknesses, or what triggers their tantrums. This will make your life and the life of your child easier and more comfortable because you get along in everything.
Seek For Help & Support
But of course, you can’t learn everything on your own. You might still need the help of other people like joining an autism support group. There you will share your experiences and learn from each other. They might have something that never crossed your mind that could be of help for your child.

Having kids are a joy for parents. You could play and dance with them. You could also talk to them about different things or about growing up. But sometimes, you cannot understand them. There are things that you don’t know the reasons behind. They may cry aloud without anyone touching them, or just fall silent for a few days. Because they are very young people, you want to understand them. They cannot easily explain or express what they really feel and think. So tender and care must be given to them. However in some instances, they would feel weird towards you. Their behavior is not the usual behavior you expect from them. It is better to have them checked with the specialists. They may have a psychiatric illness. They may have autism.
Autism is a well-known psychiatric condition that could start from childhood. It is a disorder that affects the development of the child. Symptoms could be emotional detachment, stiffness and dysfunctional communication skills. It affects the brain part of the child, and that means they will grow up having the condition. Observe your children well. They may cry loudly: it could be pain, or the kid just wants food. They could fall silent: it could mean they fear something present nearby them, or they are mute. With this in mind, if you can sense that your child displays such, you could approach your psychiatrist to have you child checked.
If your kid has the disorder, you must know how it works first. It affects the brain part of the child. That means the kid’s development until adulthood is greatly affected. Emotions are one of the issues that the kid would face. Emotions are controlled by a part of the brain (not by the heart, as told by movies). These are developed throughout the child’s growth through experiences. The same is applicable with talking to other people. They would learn the language, store it in the head, and know how to use it properly. They’ll also learn communication as a social function. Also, agility and movement is also controlled by the mind. All the muscles in the body are controlled by the mind. Walking, jogging, stretching, among others; are done by the choice of the person. But autism affects these parts of the brain. And because it is in the brain, it causes sensory issues for autistic kids. Emotions could not be properly conveyed. Sometimes, they may not feel any. Talking to other people would be hard for them. Their social lives will be greatly impacted by the disorder. Similar would happen with their motor functions. They could be restricted of movement because they can’t be agile. They are stiff. With the disorder, problems may flourish and may affect the overall health of the kid.
Now, knowing the implications of the disorder, especially the sensory issues, you should know how to deal with this. In the society, a lot of people ostracize autistic kids. Nevertheless, these kids need tender, love, and special care. They must be given a different kind of treatment. A treatment that is special and conducive to their development. Yes, it is not easy to take care of people who have problems of communication and emotion. But you must realize that it is harder to have a condition wherein you cannot communicate, move and emote well. Among the people around them, you should be the first one to understand them. You should be the first one to defend them. You should be the person who they could rely on to. At the end of the day, they are your children after all. They are the people who will give you joy and happiness. And they are the ones who will be taking care of you when the time comes that you will be the one needing help.

Autism as a developmental condition includes a few symptoms. The evaluation include no use of actions or gestures by 12 months, no single words by 16 months, no spontaneous phrases by 2 years, and completely no language or social skills at any age level. The condition is actually difficult to handle but there are therapies applied, cures made, medicines developed, and interventions that surely work. Autistic children usually suffer from seizure, mental retardation and psychiatric disorders. This is why early indicators should be given attention so cure can be offered. Now, as far as the main question ask is concerned, pre-birth diets such as those with HCG can affect whether the child is positive in autism or not. But, this one lacks proper explanation and proofs. Hormones have an effect such as HCG. Others use some healthy diets as part of the therapies with autistic children. The salient point in here is the kind of diet you choose to follow. With or without autism, the child that you carry in your womb defends on you. So, choose green. Go for sure diet that won’t affect your child negatively. Eat fruits and veggies. Thus, we need to be serious enough with our diet. We need to eat healthy foods which are sources of most vitamins and minerals.
Whether you are a mother of an autistic kid or not be mindful of your pre-birth diet. That probably contributes to your baby’s development and growth. If there are still misconceptions, talk to a professional. This is an advice. That professional will explain to you everything that you need to know. He will even discuss to you the ups and downs of your diet. He will also guide you throughout the pregnancy period. Pregnancy is crucial especially to those who are first-timers yet the experience can be pleasant to one who is ready enough.

One of the most common questions that parents with autistic children ask is “Can diet help your child’s autism issues?” When it comes to autism diet, study shows that it has not been proven yet that autism diet really works or helps autistic children. This has been an argument in medical field and experts are still doing further study about the special diet for autistic children. But if you are confused here are some of the things that I can suggest to help you out with that concern.
Do Your Research
If you have a personal computer with an internet connection that is an advantage for you because you can easily does your research about autistic diet. There are several studies that say autistic diet really works but there is also other study that says it does not make any changes at all. This is the reason why you need to do your research for you to know which of this idea you will believe in. It’s really important that you know these things because autistic children needs special attention and special care. When you do your research you can look for people who have already tried the diet and see if it really works. If it worked for them then there is a possibility that it will work on your kid too. But don’t expect too much because autism condition have different level and each level also need different level of attention and needs.
Consult Your Doctor
If you are not convinced with what you have researched, you can always go to your pedia and consult him or her about what you have research regarding the special diet for autistic children. You can confirm to them if that really works or not. You might also encounter other terms that you are not familiar with, try to list them down and consult it your doctor. By that, you will be able to understand better regarding the diet. Doctors are the best people to ask because they are the one who specialize in that field. They have been studying autism condition for years. You can have your research as an additional information and knowledge. But the special diet for autistic needs to be confirmed yet by the upper level of medical organization.
Do A Trial
Now, for you to find out if the diet will work on your kid, why don’t you do a trial? You can always try those suggested autistic diet to your kid and see if it works or not. There’s nothing to lose in trying. If it works then good for you and if not then stop the diet and try other diets. One of the reason why special diet are recommended for autistic children because they have been known that autistic children have a higher likelihood of having gastrointestinal problems and this is supported by some scientific evidence. In 2009, a study of pediatrics found that children with autism have a higher incidence of constipation and eating issues, such as eating the same type of food over and over. But in 2010 study shows that in the same journal concluded that, there’s no scientific proof that digestive issues are more common in children with autism. One of the facts that you need to know is that, researchers are really hoping that they will learn whether special diets can really help gastrointestinal issues as well as behavior problems in autistic children. That’s why for you to find out, do your out trial for at least six months then decide if it’s really working or not. If you find out that nothing has changed then you can stop it anytime you want.

What to plan for if you find out your child has autism? Actually I know a person who has been in this same situation. So let me share to you my personal experience about this situation. That person that I know of has a child where she later found out has autism. At first, she didn’t really know what to react or how to react with the news that she heard because during those times, she was not that familiar with autism. Here are the things that she did before she found out that the child has autism.
See A Doctor:
This is the very thing that the parents did when they first noticed that the child is not acting like a normal child, they took him to the doctor. He was so hyper where he just jumps back and forth, run and do things that a normal kid doesn’t usually do. They started to wonder about his behavior then they started to ask other people who have a medical background and stated his behavior and they suspected that the child may have autism or ADHD or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. But for them to confirm it, they decided to see a specialist, a doctor who has expertise with this matter. After going through some series of test the doctor then confirmed the diagnosis. The child was really suffering from autism. After they have heard the diagnosis, of course they were sad to know that the child has that condition and they needed to know how to deal with him. So, what they did is they asked the doctor about the condition and how to deal with it. They took note of it and tried to apply the things that the doctor advised them to do. At first, it’s a little difficult because you are still adjusting with the situation and also with the behavior that the child has. You need to be very patient with them and understand their every action.
Send Them To Special School:
Kids with autism need special attention and time so you can help them to become functional or do things that normal people do. Since they were not that knowledgeable with the condition they were really having a hard time doing their research about the sickness so they would know how to deal with it and to help them train him and make him more functional, they sent him to a school for special children. There they will have teachers who have expertise with regards to this condition. There they will be taught everything that they need to learn. Most autistic children have difficulty with their speech. So, they will also be taught how to communicate with other people.
Show Your Full Support:
Their training does not end or stop at school; it should be continued at home. That’s why parents who have a special child need to be aware and knowledgeable about the condition of their child so they show their full support. They need to give extra attention to their child to help them learn things like what they are learning in school like writing, coloring, dancing, and their speech. Parents should be very patient because there will be times that they don’t want to follow you or go to school. So, you also need to learn how to tame them or manipulate them, because if not they will manipulate you. Make sure that when you talk to them they maintain eye contact so they will understand what you say to them. But of course there are different approaches depending on the severity of their autism.

Autism is a symptom that makes the development of a child far behind the normal age. They are most likely gifted children that possess extraordinary talents. Thus total care of parents for their autistic children is very much recommended. Their health is not the same as normal children have that is why they need to have regular check-up from their doctors and regular medicine intake if recommended. Therefore, the doctor’s advice for parents is to take care as them as cautiously as possible. It is because the behavior of autistic children is unpredictable. There are times that they are good and responsive. Sometimes they have tantrums that they don’t want to see any people around them.
Health needs for kids with autism are very crucial compared to normal children. Some of them develop their speech slowly that is why their communication skills are delayed or slow. So tutorial for speech improvement is recommended to improve their speech. Parents who can afford it may hire English teachers to enhance their children’s speaking ability. But to some who can’t afford to pay for a private tutor, talking and teaching them to speak would help. Or you can buy English informative CD’s and DVD’s for them to watch. With this, they will learn new words and meaning. According to parents who bought audio visual materials for their children, letting them watch informative movies really helps in their speaking skills and they even develop proper grammar and diction.
Some autistic children want to be alone. They don’t want other people around them which make them alone and reserved. Insecurity and shyness develops in their mind which makes it difficult for the parents to correct this behavior of autistic children. So as early as possible parents should take them to places with many children for them to play and develop the sense of friendship. Seeing different kinds of people will make them aware of the reality. And this reality is the world does not only revolve in one place for there are many people particularly children who are like them. Knowing this will encourage them to speak and play with other children. Remember constant communication will help develop their speaking skills so bring them new friends. Although it is not easy to introduce new things and a new environment to them at least you could try.
Aside from these, some autistic children are hyperactive and intelligent. They are creative and usually excel in math and science. They love to read science fiction and love to assemble things. Total support from their parents is very much needed so that they will be motivated to continue what they love doing. Having this child will measure your patience and money. It is because most of these children are persistent in trying to get what they want. They are demanding that you will be forced to buy all the things they desire to have. Most of them want to compete with other children when it comes to mind creativity so you must support and allow them to show their talents. This is now the chance that you will make them happy. This is a time to show them, that they are normal like other children.
So as parents’, don’t take your children with autism for granted. You may think that they are nothing compared to other children, you are mistaken. They are special and their talents are unique that you need to be proud of. Their health is just a test for you as parents on how you will take care and love them. You need to be creative and enthusiastic in racing them. This requires time, effort and money but watching them progress that well, is something that no money can buy. It is a treasure, a gift from God that you must treasure and cherish.

Children with autism can have different tastes for toys compared to any other child and that’s because they have sensory problems. To them, toys can be very beneficial. It can act as an instrument for their entertainment and can help them develop other skills. There are a lot of toys to help autistic kids develop. The first thing that you may consider is to go for toys that help them with social development. Board games are favorable for this matter as a lot of players of family members can join. Any kind of board game is acceptable, you should just teach your child how this is played but you need to teach them one step at a time as maybe they will have a hard time to digest the information that you are giving them.
